About Daine

Daine Evans Lindsay was born and raised in Jamaica, where his creative spirit and compassion first took root. A talented graphic artist, Daine worked at the Jamaica Observer before migrating to Canada in search of new opportunities. Beyond his art, he was known for his generosity and kindness—especially toward youth.

As a proud volunteer with Big Brothers Big Sisters, Daine offered time, guidance, and unwavering support to those who needed it most. Whether lending a helping hand or sharing a moment of laughter, he made people feel seen.

Tragically, Daine’s life was cut short in a car accident in Kingston, Ontario in December 2008, at just 37 years old. But the light he shared continues to shine.

Our Mission

Empowering youth through education, mentorship, and love—one child at a time.
The Daine Evans Lindsay Foundation exists to continue Daine’s legacy of service and uplift. Since 2023, we’ve sponsored a child in Jamaica in his honor, providing meals and school supplies. That child now thrives in STEM, especially mathematics—a testament to what care and opportunity can spark.

Incorporated in 2025, our foundation is committed to:

  • Sponsoring under-resourced youth in Jamaica and beyond

  • Providing school meals, supplies, and mentorship

  • Fostering excellence in STEM and creative fields

  • Honoring Daine’s memory through action, not just remembrance

We believe one life can still touch countless others. Daine’s legacy lives on in every child we help rise.

Our Vision

A Jamaica where no child’s brilliance is dimmed by lack—where Daine’s legacy lives in every opportunity extended to a young dreamer.

Our
Story

Get to Know Us

The Daine Evans Lindsay Foundation was born out of deep loss—but also out of love, memory, and the desire to keep a beautiful soul’s light shining in the world.

Daine Lindsay was more than a brother, son, father, artist, and friend. He was a giver—a quiet mentor, a listener, a steady presence. Raised in Jamaica, Daine brought his vibrant creativity into everything he touched, from graphic design to community service. After moving to Canada, he continued to offer his heart through volunteer work with Big Brothers Big Sisters and spontaneous acts of generosity.

Above all else, Daine was a devoted father. He leaves behind his beloved two-year-old son and a daughter he never got the chance to meet, as she was still in the womb when he passed. His love for his children was deep and unwavering, and he dreamed of building a beautiful future for them. As we carry forward his legacy, we hold his role as a father close to our hearts—honoring not just who he was, but who he was becoming for them.

His unexpected passing in 2008 left a space that couldn’t be filled—but it also sparked a movement.

In 2023, in honor of his legacy, we began sponsoring a child in Jamaica—providing lunch, school supplies, and emotional support. The result? A child now thriving in STEM, finding their place in the world through access and care.

In 2025, we formalized our mission by incorporating the Daine Evans Lindsay Foundation, grounded in one simple belief:

One person’s kindness can shape generations.
